Photoshop Notes

Save As 
Rename your image
Make sure the image is saved as a .jpg at the highest (maximum) image quality 
Save- you do not have to rename the image at this point. Save often and regularly 
Nestle- tools are stacked on each other - to access those tools you have to left click and hold. 

USE COMMAND KEYS!!!!! 
Command + = zoom in
Command - = zoom out
Command o = open
Command c = copy
Command v = past
Command z = undo
Command, option, z = step backward
Command s = save
Command p = print
Command l = levels

To turn an image go to:
>Image>Image Rotation
CW and CCW
CW= clock wise
CCW= counter clock wise
180

Adjusting Levels
>Image>adjustments>levels

Adjusting Contrast 
Channel RGB - moved just the brown hersheys kiss (just a little lighter)

To Crop
Select the cropping tool and then click and drag the area you want to crop. Before you crop you must enter the resolution you want your image to be saved to.

Resolution Guidelines: 
Yearbook = 300
Newspaper = 150
Web = 72

To make an image black and white
Use Grayscale
Image>Mode>Grayscale

Magazine Covers Review

Blog #1: Magazine Covers Preview

Selling Line: Short, sharp description of the title's main marketing point
Cover Lines: lot of cover lines, which are distributed around the main image without detracting from it too much 
Bar Code: Standard bar code used by retailers
Main cover Line: important words explaining the magazine that are almost taking up most of the magzine
Coverline: statements about whats in the magazine without it distracting it form the portrait
Model Credit: Credit to appear on the front cover of the magazine
Main Image: front cover model
Date Line: month and year of publication
Masthead: the masthead is usually inside the magazine as well on the front cover. It is a logo for advertising and branding purposes

Year in a Review: 2013

I like this photo because the sky is a different color and it is really cool and unique. If only I could see this in real life because I've only seen skies like this in pictures.
I think this photo is really creepy, but I like it because I think it's crazy that all of those people are getting married on the same day. I've never heard of such a thing. I wouldn't feel like my wedding is special because everyone is getting married the same day as you.
I think that this photo is really cool and whoever took this photo got a good view of the whale and the people that are on the boat. It really looks like the whale is about to hit the boat but the people who are on the boat don't know that. That's why I like this photo.
